The healthcare industry is all set to face the new digital era with the wave of digital IT technologies. The COVID-19 pandemic has been a wake-up call for the healthcare industry to rethink its operations. Realizing the true potential of digital technologies, the healthcare industry is increasingly harnessing the power of advanced technologies to reduce costs and streamline its workloads. One such technology is cloud computing. Today, cloud computing in the healthcare industry is not just a storage solution, it has evolved to address significant privacy, security, and compliance challenges while improving the convenience and quality of patient care. Currently, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is one of the best Cloud Service Providers that provide a secure cloud platform on which healthcare organizations can innovate.

Understand the HIPAA Privacy Rule
The HIPAA Privacy rule is something that all applicable organizations need to familiarize themselves with. It explains when and how authorized personnel like healthcare professionals, administrators, lawyers, or anyone else within your healthcare information system can access PHI. HIPAA defines these individuals and organizations as covered entities:
Health Care Providers such as Doctors, Clinics, Psychologists, Dentists, Chiropractors, Nursing homes, Pharmacies, Health Plan, Health Insurance Companies. HMOs such as Company health plans and Government-provided health care plan Health Care Clearinghouses that process healthcare data from another entity into a standard form. Perform annual Audits and Assessments, Implement Data Safeguards, Keep Check on all Business Associates, Provide Adequate Employee Training, Procedure for security incidents, Be on the Lookout for HIPAA Changes, Take Covid into Consideration

Enterprise mobility and enterprise mobility solutions have taken on a whole new meaning during the past year. The role of enterprise mobility solutions in the current crisis is huge. The rapid penetration of employee smartphones and other personal digital devices in enterprise-related activities, and rising industry competition have pushed enterprises in cutting down the time to market with the help of enterprise mobility. Moreover, the work-from-home trend across various industry verticals imposed due to the COVID-19 outbreak has further strengthened the demand for enterprise mobility solutions in organizations.

The recent global health crisis has served as a de facto catalyst for establishing the value of cloud computing and led to accelerated adoption. Cloud productivity software can help businesses including small businesses to cut costs, better manage the workforce and increase productivity across the organization. One such highly useful and important cloud productivity suite in the market today is Microsoft’s Office 365. According to a report by Statista Office 365 occupies 40.39% of the market share in the US. O365 for businesses in 2021 is more than just Microsoft Office in the cloud, it is designed to help organizations achieve more with innovative office apps, intelligent cloud services, and world-class security.
Moving to a cloud-based system like Office 365 has some major advantages. Check out the key advantages of O365 for businesses in 2021.

With the world getting more digitally connected by the day, we have entered into an age of data economy where true company value lies in the collected customer data. Healthcare is one such industry that handles a baffling amount of sensitive patient data on a daily basis. There are several data privacy law initiatives and data protection regulations that are accelerating the change in the way companies and individuals are recognizing the value and importance of protecting user data. Stringent data protection regulations across the world require organizations to ensure adequate privacy of sensitive data.

One such data privacy regulation that the healthcare industry must adhere to is HIPPA compliance. With the ongoing digital transformation in the healthcare sector, the demand for a federally compliant infrastructure to process and store electronically protected health information (ePHI) that is protected by the HIPAA is on the rise as well. Today’s healthcare businesses aspire to be technologically advanced and digital with rapid cloud adoption. But at the same time, they must ensure that patient health information is protected by meeting the HIPAA compliance. But what exactly is HIPAA and how can the healthcare industry ensure better HIPAA compliance?

Building outstanding web applications and cloud applications gives your business a competitive edge. This is why choosing the right development framework and stacks is crucial for your business to increase workflow efficiency and operational productivity. Modern-day technology demands modern frameworks and mature programming languages that can fulfill the challenging and evolving business demands. They need a robust, scalable, interoperable, cross-platform, developmental framework that gives them the freedom and power to develop according to the needs of the company. When it comes to developing and writing enterprise-grade technologies, no one does it better than Microsoft. With the huge success of ASP.NET 4.x among developers worldwide, Microsoft has launched an updated version of ASP.NET with a more modular and leaner architectural structure- ASP.NET Core.

AltCtrl Media's Case Studies

Case study on AltCtrl Media’s solution for Integrating Client’s Salesforce with SharePoint online
Our client, a New Jersey-based Healthcare company expected to have a highly customized online portal to streamline the process of their communications department. They wanted an experienced partner who is proficient in building custom SharePoint online portals.
The client was facing difficulties in communication and collaboration across their team. This decreased their productivity and they were missing many new opportunities every second. The client was using Salesforce as their CRM tool. So, they wanted us to build a custom SharePoint portal with tight integration with Salesforce for their communications department.
AltCtrl Media’s expert SharePoint team evaluated the existing system, identified the practical difficulties, and came up with a solution to address the client’s difficulties. We created and implemented a custom SharePoint online portal integrated into their Salesforce to streamline the process in the communications department. This allowed the client to manage opportunities originating from Salesforce and seamlessly collaborate on existing documentation.
With the innovative solution for integrating the client’s salesforce with SharePoint online, AltCtrl Media enabled access to a single source of truth for everyone anytime from anywhere. This helped the entire team to collaborate on upcoming new opportunities in a seamless way. The client saw an increase in productivity to work on opportunities by 30%. They were able to close 15% more opportunities. AltCtrl Media’s solution also resulted in improved data consistency and improved security that helped in meeting compliance requirements for the business process

Case study on: Improving user productivity and connectivity with SharePoint online migration
Our client, a New York-based Music company, wanted to provide better connectivity and productivity for their users by migrating their legacy sites to SharePoint Online. They needed a partner with experience in SharePoint online migration to help them ensure productivity across their business channels.
The client had 5 different SharePoint farms ranging from 2007 to 2010 as a result of multiple mergers and acquisitions. This severely affected their site performance and resulted in low employee productivity, increased cost of maintenance, support, and operation. They wanted to improve their intranet portal performance as there was more room for better compatibility. Finding and accessing data from these multiple SharePoint farms was time-consuming and at times fruitless.
AltCtrl Media’s SharePoint migration experts planned the whole migration process strategically to allow for multiple business requirements. We migrated all the legacy sites to SharePoint online using a third-party tool. We migrated their main intranet portal with custom branding and refactored their server-side code and client-side code. Custom search portals for sales leads on the field were also migrated and refactored in SharePoint Online. This refactoring process enabled better performance and compatibility.
Thus, with AltCtrl Media’s SharePoint migration solution, the client achieved high-performance sites that ensured better engagement across the organization of 14000 users. These SharePoint online sites were accessible from anywhere and provided better connectivity and productivity for all the users. The client also decommissioned their old hardware and virtual machines for legacy farms. This enabled the client to reduce their support, maintenance, and operational costs.

Our client, a national U.S. retail corporation with ‘brick and mortar’ locations and online e-commerce sales, was looking to expand and upgrade its financial processing, inventory, supply chain, retail sales and distribution systems and processes and take advantage of the efficiencies and lower costs that are leveraged using a robust and scalable cloud-based framework. Check the importance of Cloud computing in the manufacturing industry
Our client’s objectives were quite simply to provide self-service and real-time connectivity to marketing, sales, financial, operational, and net income data at a granular level across the client’s physical stores’ business and online e-commerce presence. The impact of cloud computing in the retail industry is massive. The key parameters of this engagement had to account for the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) data privacy and security rules, implementation, access and identity management at all retail locations, and provide for a dynamic structure capable of flexibility and efficiency to allow for continued modifications for likely industry governance changes, technology upgrades and enhancements in the future.
Based on our recommendations, our client selected the SAP commercial enterprise suite housed in the SAP HANA cloud platform, which provided our client with a centralized, standardized data source for operational and analytical workloads. Our client selected AltCtrl Media to develop a comprehensive plan and manage the migration to SAP HANA. The SAP HANA platform is a flexible, data source-agnostic in-memory data platform that allows our client to analyze large volumes of data in real-time.
The database services of the SAP HANA platform, provide the data store and access to data (in-memory and column-based). SAP HANA provides online transaction processing (OLTP) and online analytical processing (OLAP) on one system, without the need for redundant data storage or aggregates. AltCtrl Media configured the application services of the SAP HANA platform to develop key business intelligence applications and built custom applications on SAP HANA, to effectively manage the applications’ lifecycles.
Following the initial implementation, AltCtrl Media’s team then selected and implemented the SAP® BusinessObjects™, a business intelligence platform, in the SAP HANA cloud-based infrastructure, as the BI solution based on its robustness and flexible architecture. Finally, using an Agile iterative process, in collaboration with our client, the AltCtrl Media team built custom dashboards that provided sales and marketing executives with a consolidated view of key performance indicators using real-time sales, financial, and operational data.
AltCtrl Media leveraged the SAP HANA operational data marts’ real-time analytics and reporting on data replicated from the transactional system’s database to build the custom analytics applications. AltCtrl Media mapped our client’s workflow processes to maximize the implementation’s data management methodology.
The SAP methodology adds new data into the relevant tables in the transactional system’s database, copies of those records are automatically transferred immediately into SAP HANA using replication technology. These replicated tables become the basis for specialized views that are created for analytics purposes. Check out digital transformation in the automotive industry to get a better idea. AltCtrl Media has the knowledgeable, experienced, professional technical architects, business and data analysts our client needed to develop the data modeling views to convert raw transactional table data into a form best suited for analytics.
The successes and innovation resulting from the SAP implementation project were a result of the professional collaboration between the client’s IT leads and AltCtrl Media’s Program Management structure, IT enterprise architects, IT integration leads, business analysts and training, and quality assurance leads all well experienced in SAP configuration and process transformation. We successfully led the implementation/integration engagement team in completing the implementation in just over 9 months providing for an automated, more simplified and cost-effective global customer engagement protocol, sales & returns details, financial processing, tracking, inventory, and supply chain and retail store real-time reporting and processing capabilities.
An example of the analytic project’s information production is the ability (with the push of a button): to assess the relevant markets to determine the products/services that are needed or wanted by customers; carry out quantitative and qualitative analyses to capture and investigate products/services sales and buying patterns; and employ creative techniques that allow for a closer understanding of customer demand patterns and the related fulfillment of retail products and service solutions.
AltCtrl Media achieved our client’s goals through customization of analytics using SAP® BusinessObjects™ business intelligence platform, in the SAP HANNA cloud-based infrastructure, and provided training teams to all required sales facilities and locations for training and support to ensure a permanent sustainable solution was in place.

Our client, a regional electrical contracting company, maintains several concurrent projects at various work sites from private residential homes to commercial and retail settings. This organization was outgrowing its existing project management software (QuickBooks) and required an upgrade to continue to provide the quality of work that they are known for.

They needed a flexible, scalable, and reliable financial accounting system to properly track and report on the business activity as they expanded and experienced growth in project revenues, expenses, and employees. AltCtrl Media was contracted to assist the enterprise to install a new ERP system and migrate their current QuickBooks data. The client also sought to incorporate a digital/mobile technology for field reporting to improve customer service response times and manage work orders more effectively.

Our experienced Real Estate and Construction experts performed an in-depth ‘as-is’ analysis of the client’s data quality and sources, documenting workflows, processes, compliance and reporting requirements. A key goal of this engagement was to improve the accuracy and the quality of data utilized to manage and deliver better construction methods and services, reduce materials costs, comply with federal, state and local reporting and regulatory requirements, and effectively process data from different sources.

Using this current state of our client’s business processes, controls and reporting requirements, AltCtrl Media developed roadmaps and detailed plans for the process enhancements and solution selection process.

AltCtrl Media completed the assessment phase of the engagement and developed detailed roadmaps and detailed workflows. We then evaluated several ERP (enterprise resource planning) applications, with the goals of achieving interdependence and operational synergies within its business model. The systems AltCtrl Media reviewed were cloud-based and managed entirely off-site by the ERP provider.

Notably, the advantage of cloud-based solutions is not expensive, in terms of upfront investments in IT hardware and servers there is no need for a significant number of clients or IT staff to manage it. Our in-house ERP specialists know cloud-based implementations and are usually faster and easier to deploy than on-site deployments, ongoing maintenance is simpler because the cloud-based ERP provider is responsible for keeping the technology up to date.

Based on the innovative industry analysis and recommendations, the client chose Sage 300 CRE (Construction and Real Estate) as their ERP system which features industry-specific intelligence they needed for monitoring project costs. In conjunction with the Project Management and Service Management modules within Sage 300 CRE, the company is able to monitor job costs and project performance in real-time while also enhancing the company’s responsiveness by enabling field staff to fulfill work orders remotely via a mobile device.

Possessing information that is up-to-date and accurate is critical for the success of each and every project. Our client now can provide their customer’s confidence in managing projects with proper processes in place to ensure their projects are on track and the change requested is updated, recorded and responded to in a timely manner.

Our client, a New York-based music company, knew that they needed a flexible, scalable, reliable, and customizable vendor management system and invoice management system to match their operation levels. AltCtrl Media’s expert SharePoint team stepped up to help the client develop a custom SharePoint Online portal. The client faced a major issue in their invoice processing and vendor management systems. Their accounts payable and Vendor management systems needed pre-processing of invoices and vendor approvals before they went into their SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP system. This was leading to inconsistencies and loss of data. The client’s business productivity was also severely decreased because of the increased time to process invoices. AltCtrl Media’s expert SharePoint team addressed the optimization issues faced by the client with innovative solutions. We created a custom SharePoint 2010 portal that allowed the client to manage invoice intake of more than 2000 invoices per day and process them into SAP for payment. We also built a pre-processing portal for the vendor management system. It was built with a customizable multi-tier workflow for adding, removing, and updating vendors before the change hit SAP. With AltCtrl Media’s custom SharePoint portal for invoice processing and vendor management system, the average time to pay invoice reduced by 50%. Productivity for offshore invoice processing increased by 25% with in-built workflow business logic and split screens to see metadata and invoice at the same time. The portal also reduced data corruption by 57%. This further helped the client to reduce operation costs.
